In which I display the results of my attempts at overcoming a fear of drawing large groups of people.
Exhibit A, a digital approach:
Exhibit B, an analog approach:
Just the thought of coloring them is enough to bring tears to my eye. And not in a good way. >_<

i think the top one would be kind of fun to color
@Peridot21 - Oh, it’s fun. It’s just that it requires the patience of a zen monk to finish. It took me a total of two days to fill in the flat colors, and an estimated three days to color the lines. (Two thirds of the work was done in two days, so I’m still looking at a day’s worth of coloring lines.) And a lazier part of me is still debating whether or not to go into shadows & highlights. -_-
awesome. love that fact that you include those characters instead of regular humans. n NO, colors won’t be as nice.
@rudyhou - It’s a birthday gift for a kid that just turned one. I thought the whole “RPG level-up” wold make for a nice concept.
At the moment, I’m still coloring the art. (Coloring the lines is driving me nuts. -_-)
A birthday gift! You’re super talented! Thumbs up for you.
@RestlessButterfly - You’re welcome. And… yeah… a birthday gift. One of the nicer things about being able to draw stuff is you don’t need to spend a lot of money on expensive gifts.
@Lakakalo - Lucky you
Did you draw the first one digitally? And you drew the second one? I like the second one. Especially the face on the guy 3rd from the bottom right…LOL! That is my expression in a Real crowd like that while I’m forcing my way out!
Oh, and who had not rather get something made than a bought gift!!!!
I just try to avoid them. Oh… wait… you meant drawing, as in… never mind… exits stage left very quietly.
Nice drawings BTW
@a_thousandmiles - The first one was created from scratch in photoshop. The second one is pencil on cheap paper. (Accidentally-poked-a-couple-of-holes-through-it-quality cheap paper.)
@MzSilver - Ya’know, the funny things is I still have a fear of drawing crowds (the other kind) that need to be overcome. That and thank you.
Those are beautiful drawings. Sorry for being absent from your posts lately.
@KnightInCROATIANarmor - No worries man. I’ve been a little preoccupied with the off-line life myself. And thanks for the compliment.
@Lakakalo - You’re welcome
wow. (i’ve been missing posts), so i came looking to see what the talented pen was up to (besides posting wierd Al
. ’tis very cool to see both approaches to the same ‘fear’. thank you, btw. inspiring for those of us just learning…
@Bels_Kaylar - Thank you. I’ve been a little preoccupied with the off-line life as well. I believe the general approach to dealing with fear is to confront it. Unfortunately, I seem to forget that quite often. ~_~
@Lakakalo - right there with you, re forgetting that the answer is not to run, but to confront. (in fact, one of the prompts, that i did (aug.13 post), involved that habit of mine, the running one. i’m working on developing the confronting one
